Question:  Converting video files for playback on the PSP
[Email To a Friend]
Answer:  Because Media Studio auto-detects the source video format and automatically converts to the PSP format, using it to sync Movies onto your PSP is a breeze! Depending on the aspect ratio of the source movie file, you may wish to change the aspect ratio and resolution Media Studio uses for a movie conversion. You can do so in the “Movie Options” window. To begin a movie conversion: • Launch Media Studio and switch to the Movies section • Drag and drop your movie file into the Movies list. • Wait for conversion to complete. Depending on your quality settings, the speed of your computer and the length and format of your video file, the conversion process may take from a few moments to several hours per movie. A movie that is currently converting will be indicated by an animated orange "zigzag" pattern. A movie that is pending for conversion (waiting for the current conversion to complete) will appear as a yellow "..." icon. A movie that has successfully converted will have a still/thumbnail next to it. A failed or cancelled movie conversion will appear with a red stop sign next to it. Once your movie has completed converting, you are ready to sync it to your PSP as follows: • Open Media Studio and switch to the Movies section • Select the movie(s) you would like to sync onto the PSP. • Click the "Sync Now" button. You can easily swap the movies on your Memory Stick by selecting the movies you wish to have on the PSP and deselecting the ones you don't, then simply perform a sync. If you are having difficulty converting a movie, refer to the Solving Problems section..
