Question:  I get a red "stop sign" when I try to convert a movie
[Email To a Friend]
Answer:  Certain movie files may not convert because of format incompatibility, however most conversion problems are a result of another problem. It is possible to convert incompatible movie formats to a compatible format using a third-party application and then import the movie into Media Studio. Try restarting your computer to alleviate any possible temporary problem on your system. Ensure your primary (System/OS) harddisk has enough free space for the movie conversion, the amount of disk space needed to convert is usually two to four times the size of the original movie, but may vary. Mac OS X users: Make sure you are using Mac OS X 10.3.9 or later and are not using DigiDesign hardware drivers, these are incompatible with Media Studio (and many other applications). Mac OS X users: Toggling the "Decode movies using QuickTime" option in Media Studio’s Movies Options sheet may help convert certain movie formats that otherwise fail conversion. Additionally, with "Decode movies using QuickTime" checked, you can install or uninstall video codecs to help Media Studio convert a specific movie format.
